Aww, I liked this. The premise would sure explain a lot. And the balance of SeriousAngst!Cloud to ConfusedManChild!Cloud with a touch of Dork!Cloud was great.
Just one thing I noticed, though, is that Cloud and Tifa seemed to state each other's names a lot when it was only the two of them talking. It rang a bit false for me, since addressing someone by name repeatedly is usually an indication that you're not very familiar with each other (like how telemarketers and salespeople keep reiterating the customer's name). It wasn't a huge deal, but I just thought I'd point it out.
