Fic business
Oct. 13th, 2011 07:55 amI've been going through my WIP folder, trying to make a dent in my expansive fic list. I don't exactly miss the years when I wrote one fic and only one fic because it's easy to burn out on the idea that way, but this helter-skelter scattershot approach isn't much better for productivity. One plot bunny spawns another and it never ends. I get plenty of entertainment, but there's little substance, and I finally have enough energy to spare to start missing that. Now that hooker!Gen is more or less happily strutting his stuff, next on the list are a monster hunt story, an Aeriseph+Gen/Angeal that wants to be more complicated than originally planned, some shameless kink meme smut, a first-time fic, the massive PoS re-read, way too much for the Mission!verse and maybe a little family something for that spooky day at the end of the month. That's just the top few. If I complete the whole list I might scare myself out of it.
Sometimes the best approach is to just pick one and stick with it. It's a grey, rainy day. Let's see what wins the 'Write Me!' race.
