Passed my Internal Medicine rotation, started Psychiatry this week, thinking it could be a very strong contender for What I Want To Do When I Grow Up. 'New Life' has been getting a steady little stream of faves and kudos, which makes me terribly happy because it's definitely not a 'mass appeal' kind of story. There's not much happening otherwise on the writing front. I've been spending time looking at miniature embroidery, how to sew spandex, and Victorian era shoes.

But I got this thing over at trope_bingo.

Congratulations on passing Internal Medicine, and best of luck with Psychiatry. If you need a project you could come sit in my office for a week.

I tried miniature embroidery when I was in my 20s and haven't tried it since. I'm sure my eyes are not good enough now. It was funny, though. I thought - it's so small it won't take very long. But it had the same amount of stitches, duh.

Shame, teasing us with that bingo card. How does it work?

I actually get to work for three weeks in a mental hospital, not with any patients who would pose an immediate danger at this level, but we've been warned to be on our guard with the slick sociopaths and the hypersexual manic patients. Seems there have been a few incidents in the past. Either way, I'm glad Internal med is over. Seven days a week for eight weeks and my body's not that young anymore, I was sick the whole time and finished up with a stomach bug.

I've got a magnifying glass to tackle the embroidery. I tried a little bit and I think it takes even longer than regular size. There's so much time spent trying to see the right hole to stab the needle in. But if I want to build and furnish a 1:12 dollhouse, I'm going to have to experiment with a lot of crafts.

With the bingo card, I'm supposed to write enough 500 word stories using those themes to make a bingo of any sort, x, lines, even blackout. I can play the idea straight, or twist and subvert it. I just have to figure out where to start.

The kidfics have been fun to write lately, given how thick Keter turned out to be(though he reads people well enough) and how temperamental Remi turned out to be.
Incidentally, do all of the kids in your AU-verse have silver hair?
