Title: Burn Out
Characters: Sephiroth/Aeris
Rating: R
Prompt: Water
Word Count: 110
Sephiroth burns. It’s what he does. He can’t help it. His skin is hotter than normal. His eyes are always smoldering. Small wonder that he burnt a town and roasted its inhabitants to a crisp. All that fire had to go somewhere.
He’s burning her now, too hot inside and around her, close to pain but always a pleasure, a small taste of the hell he promises to build. Too hot to really warm her. Fire like this can’t last, not beside the coolness of her own life’s flow. He’ll burn himself out for sure, a fiery flash across her life, and between them, nothing but vanishing steam.
Title: By Any Other Name
Characters: Aeris/th, Sephiroth
Rating: PG
Prompt: Writer’s Choice: Name
Word Count: 150
“Aerith, Aerith, Aerith,” he whispered after one of their half-angry rounds among the flowers. “Sounds like a lisp.”
Aerith flicked him with the end of the braid she had made in his hair. “It does not!”
Sephiroth smirked. “Of course it does.”
“Not once you get used to it.” Aerith rolled onto her back, gravity pulling her breasts flat.
“Then how in the world did you end up being called ‘Aeris’ all your life?”
She shrugged and started another messy braid in his hair. “My mother was hardly able to speak when my adoptive mother found us. The words all blended together and Elmyra thought my name was ‘Aeris’.”
“And you didn’t know your own name well enough to object?” The tug on the braid was a gentle, unmistakable warning.
“You know the lab techs never used it, Seph,” Aeris said, “and mother never needed a name to call me.”

"Your mother never needed a name to call you?"
"Well, mostly when she saw me she said: 'Why are you covered in mud again? We live in a lab! Where did you find mud?' I don't think she was even really checking for mud by the time we escaped."
"And when you did escape she turned you into Aeris."
"But you can call me Aerith."
"Alright. You can call me Thephiroth."
She whacked him in the face with the end of a silvery braid.
"Why not?" he said. "It's what My mother called me."
"Jenova called you Thephiroth?"
"Beacause she had trouble spelling."
